We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use Crossword Arena.

Information we collect

• Apple email: If you sign in with Apple, we receive the email address Apple gives us, which may be a private relay address. It is used to recognise your account and is kept until you delete your account.
• Name and avatar: Chosen when you join. They are shown to other players in games and on the scoreboard, and are kept until you delete your account.
• Gameplay data: Your score, rating and match history are used to rank players and run games. Deleting your account removes your name and avatar from them; the match records themselves stay, no longer showing who you were.
• Crash reports: If the app hits a native error, it sends the error name, message, stack trace, platform and OS version to our server so we can fix it. Reports are not tied to your account and are written to our server log, not stored in our database.
• IP address: When you sign in with Apple, we count sign-in attempts per IP address to limit abuse. The address is kept for about 10 minutes and is then deleted.

How we use your information

We only collect information necessary to provide and improve our services:

• Display on scoreboard: Your name, avatar and score are displayed publicly in the app to track user achievements.
• Accounts and games: Your email and gameplay data let you sign in, keep your rating across devices and play against others.
• Stability and security: Crash reports help us fix bugs, and IP addresses protect sign-in from abuse.
• Usage counts: How often screens are opened and actions are taken is sent once a day as totals. It is not linked to you and carries no player or device id. We use it to see which parts of the app are used and to improve them.
• Feedback: When you send feedback, the text, the optional screenshot and the optional email address you add go to our backend, which relays them to our issue tracker (the project-management board run by the developer). They are used only to fix and improve the app.

We do not sell your data or use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Data security

We implement reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, we cannot guarantee complete security as no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your rights

If you are a resident of the EU, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Access and correction: You can request to access or update your personal information by contacting us at crossword-arena@zinko.si.
• Deletion: You can delete your account in the app under Settings > Account > Delete account, or delete your player without an account under Settings > Account > Delete my player. You may also request deletion by contacting us at crossword-arena@zinko.si.

By using our app, you consent to our collection and use of your information as outlined in this policy.
